Each school keeps the proceeds from their race – last year about $100,000 was raised by the schools, and the series of races has became one more campaign in the fight against childhood obesity.

Points are awarded at each race, for all age groups, both male and female. As the year progresses, points are accumulated (Sept-May). At the end of the year, awards will be presented to the top three runners, both male and female, in all age groups (ages 8& < to 70+), having accumulated the most points. The top three finishers in each age group receive a custom plaque and also are recognized at an awards luncheon hosted by the Rotary Club of Peachtree City.

Points are earned by age group and gender as follows: 100 points for first in age group, 90 points for second, 80 points for third, etc. Any finishers in 11th place and lower earn 5 points. Ten (10) bonus points are automatically awarded in the accumulated points for each race after the 4th race.
